School day timings 

 From Monday, we will be returning to our normal academy day for all year groups. All pupils should arrive between 8.45 - 8.55 am and enter via the main gate. Pupils should be collected at 3.00pm. All parents will be allowed onto the playground at pick up time and will not be required to wear a face covering outside.

Breakfast Club 

Breakfast Club will be running daily from 8.15 am. Places must be booked & paid for in advance via Parentpay. For 2021, we have increased the cost to £3.00 per session. This includes breakfast and will take place in our new Family Hub space, as such, pupils attending should be dropped off at the side gate.

After School Clubs 

After School Clubs will recommence Monday, 13 September. After school, clubs will be charged at £1.00 per session and will run from 3.00 – 3.45 pm. Sessions for the half-term should be paid for in advance via Parentpay. We will send home details of After School Clubs on offer during the first week of term.

Uniform

Pupils ensure your child(ren) are dressed smartly in full school uniform on their return to school in September. Pupils in Year 4/5/6 must wear a tie and collared shirt. Pupils may not wear trainers to school. Click here to view our school uniform page

PE kit

We shall continue with wearing our PE kit to school on PE days as are many schools across the UK. We have found this maximises PE time in the lesson. PE kits days are as follows.

Covid updates

As we return to school in September, please be assured the safety of our children, families and staff remains our number one priority. As the country moves to Step 4 of the roadmap, the government will continue to manage the risk of serious illness from the spread of the virus. This marks a new phase in the government’s response to the pandemic, moving away from stringent restrictions on everyone’s day-to-day lives, towards advising people on how to protect themselves and others, alongside targeted interventions to reduce risk. As COVID-19 becomes a virus that we learn to live with, there is now an imperative to reduce the disruption to children and young people’s education - particularly given that the direct clinical risks to children are extremely low, and every adult has been offered a first vaccine and the opportunity for two doses by mid-September.

Mixing and bubbles: At Step 4 it is no longer recommend that it is necessary to keep children in consistent groups (‘bubbles’). This means that bubbles will not need to be used in the academy from the autumn term. We will be returning to whole school gatherings, such as assemblies. Pupils will also be returning to participating in indoor PE and eating their lunch in the hall.

From 19 July, the government removed the requirement to wear face coverings in law but expects and recommends that they are worn in enclosed and crowded spaces where you may come into contact with people you don't normally meet. As such, we politely request parents wear a face covering when entering our small front entrance area to visit the office.

Control measures: Please be assured we will be keeping a number of control measures in place. This includes ensuring good hygiene for everyone, maintaining our additional cleaning regimes, keeping spaces well ventilated and following public health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID-19. Staff will continue with the programme of twice weekly asymptomatic testing. We will continue to provide a remote learning offer for any pupil requiring to self isolate. 

Family Hub

This term we will be launching our Family Hub. The Family Hub will be open for business from the start of term - it will be open to families for drop in sessions and offer a range of programmes led by Mrs Smith, Learning Mentor, to support parental engagement with school. We are currently in discussion with Peterborough Regional College and City College Peterborough regards adult learning – if there is something you are particularly interested in do let us know.
