Grow your own potatoes!
On Wednesday 9th March a group of 15 children from EYFS and Y3SW went to the East of England Showground to take part in a potato planting session. While there, the children learnt how farmers plant potatoes and care for them right up to harvesting. They also learnt about what life was like for a farmer 60 years ago. The highlight of the afternoon was each child planting their own potato which they will care for over the next few months before returning to the showground to harvest them near the end of the summer term. The children also worked in teams to plant beetroot, lettuce and carrot plants. We can't wait to try all these tasty vegetables in the academy kitchen!
