Visit to Central Library

Today we visited Central Library as part of our Book Week celebrations.

The children arrived very eager this morning to get to the library and immerse themselves in hundreds of books. Parents were invited to come along and share the magical 'booky' adventure. As soon as we arrived at the library the children were in awe at the size of the building and the number of shelves all heavily laden with books. For many children it was their first visit to the library. We enjoyed browsing the shelves and book boxes looking at the many books on offer. The children quickly found something to read and settled on the comfy sofas and rugs reading with their friends. We also had the chance to draw a picture of our favourite book cover which will go on display in the library.

To our amazement there was also a man with a very large video camera; he was filming on behalf of ITV Anglia News for a World Book day feature. He filmed the children enjoying the library before filming some interviews with a few parents and their child. Even Mrs Baldock was interviewed! The feature should hopefully be aired this Thursday, so do make sure you watch the news!
