Cross the river!
Using the Chinese New Year story, the children have been challenged to find a way to cross the river.
Just like the animals in the Chinese New Year story, the children have been challenged to find ways to cross the river. The children worked together to discuss their ideas, then decided on using the stepping stones and pathway blocks. Once built, there were some very cautiuos children testing the bridge. All were keen to have a go, but some were a little hesitant and wondered whether the bridge would be as good as it looked!
With teamwork as a recent focus, the children quickly decided that they needed to work together to help and support each other. Praise was offered and loud cheers given as each child crossed the river. A helping hand was also available to those that needed it. The children quickly gained confidence and were soon looking at ways to improve their design and make their bridge bigger and better.
Of course no water activity is complete without actually going in! With wellies on their feet they also enjoyed having a good old splash in the water!
We look forward to seeing how this develops over the week. Click here to see more photos of our fun!
