Bishop Creighton Academy

Autumn Walk

To start the week we went on an autumn walk in the academy grounds. We found lots of exciting treasures to fill our pockets!

We were very excited to find the leaves are already turning colour and dropping off the trees. We talked about the beautiful colours and the sounds the leaves made as we walked through them. The children partcularly enjoyed finding vast amounts of conkers in the corner of the field! They spent a great deal of time searching for the biggest conker to take back to the classroom! We were lucky enough to find some of the spiky conker shells on the ground too.

During the rest of the week we have been using our autumn finds in a number of ways - repeating patterns, conker rolling, conker counting, sorting objects, making autumn faces
