Linked to our theme about War, Year 6 have been writing narratives based on the film text ‘The Piano’ by Aidon Gibbons. The main character in the story is an old man who is reflecting on his past and the range of emotions he feels when he thinks about his time in the war and special times in his life.  Within our Literacy lessons, we have focused on writing in a consistent tense whilst also showing shifts in time, and have developed a wider range of vocabulary to describe the man’s feelings.
