Two weeks ago 5 little caterpillars arrived in our classroom. Every day we have watched them grow longer and fatter. Last Friday they had all tucked themselves away inside their cocoons. We carefully transferred them to their butterfly garden house to await the emerging butterflies.

Today our wait was over as slowly and one by one they all emerged! As you can imagine there was such great excitement amongst the children. The butterflies will stay indoors over the weekend as they dry their wings out and build up their strength ready to be released next Tuesday during our Ugly Bug Ball.
