Trip to the museum

Year 1 had lots of fun learning about old toys at Peterborough Museum.

Year 1 had lots of fun learning about old toys at Peterborough Museum. This visit was organised to help the children understand what toys were like in the past.
The children had the chance to take part in 3 workshops;
1. Making a toy
2 Playing with the old toys
3. Toy Story Drama

The children had the opportunity to make their own toy puppets, they were facisinated that they 'popped up'. Both classes were enthused by the old toys, especially because they had never seen a spinning top before!
It was a day to remember for all the children. In class this week we were able to produce some wonderful learning all about their visit!

Here are some of the things the children had to say about their visit...
Dina " This is the best trip ever, I love learning facts"
Jake " There are lots of old toys here to see"
Tyrese "This is the best day ever, I wish we had old toys at school"

Please take a look at our photo album to see the wonderful learning that took place.
