On Friday the 22^nd of June, 21 BCA pupils travelled to Leicester to participate in the annual Greenwood Academies Primary School Indoor Athletics event!

The event is hosted each year at Braunstone Leisure centre and every single primary academy – 18 in total- attend! That’s around 700 children from academies across the UK.

On the day, there were 6 field and 6 track events to compete in. The children had already been selected for their races/events and had been practising at school prior to Friday to ensure we performed to the best of our ability. The field events ran throughout the day and the track events took centre stage, in front of a huge cheering crowd! Everybody had a brilliant day, all of the children tried their best and represented the academy superbly!

With 18 schools in attendance, only the top 10 academies were called out! In previous years the best we have placed was twelfth,  we couldn't believe it! We came tenth! For a small academy like ours, this was a great achievement and bette than we've ever done before! Well done BCA!
