Sports Premium
"The primary physical education (PE) and sport premium is spent effectively. Leaders and trustees have a clear plan for how the money should be spent and what the impact should be. They have set challenging goals to ensure that pupils have healthy active lifestyles and to support more pupils to take part in extra-curricular activities. This is supported well by the trust’s sports partnership." Ofsted, Feb 2018 |
The government provided additional funding of £150 million per annum for academic years 2013 to 2014, 2014 to 2015 and 2015 to 2016 to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.
From 2017-18 on, this funding increased significantly. Schools with 17 pupils or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil in Years 1 - 6.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this. We have joint priorities with the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust.
Key performance data: In 2023 24 40% of Year 6 pupils could confidently swim 25m or more. 40% of Year 6 pupils could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
