Tiger Tea Party!

This week, we have been focusing our literacy learning on the wonderful story The Tiger Who Came to Tea!

This week, we have been focusing our literacy learning on the wonderful story The Tiger Who Came to Tea! We have read the story a few times and have been applying what we know to our work.

Firstly, we decided to have a tea party and invite The Tiger Who Came to Tea. We had a class discussion about the features of an invitation and how we write them. We made sure that we wrote in our neatest handwriting (as we have been practising this a lot this week). The children created an invitation for the Tea Party and we sent them off to the Tiger and kept our fingers crossed that he could make it!

Next, the day of the Tea Party! We were all so excited to see if the Tiger had come to our classroom to have a Tea Party. Thankfully he had! We had biscuits and buns just like Sophie and the Tiger did in the story. The Tiger joined in with the Tea Party and even played musical statues with us all.

After a fantastic Tea Party the Tiger had to go home. We then decided to send the Tiger a thank you note for attending our party. We made sure that we used capital letters, full stops and finger spaces in our work and we used our phonics to help us spell.
