How do plants reproduce?
Kaamilah takes a close look at a flower from a weigela shrub.
Year 6 spent the morning investigating how plants reproduce. We took a very close look at the deciduous flowering shrub called weigela which Mrs Murphy brought in from her garden. Using microscopes Year 6 were able to locate the stamens and carpels found within the petals and discuss the function of these parts of the trumpet-shaped flowers. This experience today will enable us to write a detailed explanation about plant reproduction.Take a look at our photo gallery to see more pictures including some beautiful drawings created by the children.
